Arry's F Word Frenzy

The Daily Mail ran an interesting piece early this morning, claiming to have been privy to Arry letting our delicate little soldiers know just how he feels.
The scene: The Away dressing room at Wigan last Sunday. The cast: The Tottenham first team and a rather understandably irate Redschnapps.
'I don't think you love the ******* game.'
'I think you ***** are here for the money, I don't think you give a ****. You, do you give a **** ?'
'Of course I do.''You ? You're the ******* worst of the lot!'
Given that the story is, ahem, an accurate representation of events that actually happened... the only remaining question is who - in Arry's view - is the worst of the lot?
Who said this was a dull window?
The full article is HERE.

Givebn that the response was not Oui or Da or anything it seems a likely response from a native English speaker. Given the poor marking that cost the goal, I'd plump for Jenas.

Bale, Bentley, Bent or Jenas. They are all so bad, they don't care about the club they play for, and are paid so much money, for performing so badly. Watching Super Spurs on Monday at 10pm on Sky put this current crop of players to shame, none of this lot deserve £100 a week, let alone the £20,000 - £60,000 that they are probably on. They don't care, it's time to boot them out, and play people with a bit of heart. Bale is awful. Bentley parades around like a pre-maddona. Bent has got the worst first touch, and awareness of any footballer I have ever seen at Tottenham (£16m - Well done Comolli), and Jenas - 1 in 20 good games, at best!

I blame Jenas ! We really need to train these midfielders how to defend cos they can't score!!!

The point is that with very few exceptions,it could have been just about any of them so Arry would need to be a fine judge of shite to award just one of them the star prize.

I would lose Jenas tomorrow (or even today) but in his defence, anybody that has played the game, at any level, will know how difficult it can be to adjust to the pace of a game, so whilst not excusing slack marking I can understand how it would happen. The real crime of that goal was the pathetic way we gave away a corner.

What's worse, not marking properly or, as ably demonstrated by that useless git Zokora (amazingly still supported by Arry), coming on to a ball from the right wing and getting a decent chance to score and create but instead, as always, slicing it ten yards wide. Douglas Bader would have done better than that.

Come on Arry, bring some new faces in for goodness sake and ship out some of these poseurs.

First time poster, love the site Harry.

    Line up from Sunday:

Gomes - Stayed on after injured and playing well these days, not him.

    Corluka - Not likely

Dawson - not a chance it's him. (I'd like to think)

Woodgate - Put in a good shift on Sunday, doubt it's him.

    King - Nope!

Bale - Hasn't performed for spurs really, possible.

    Zokora - Doubtful

Modric - Went missing on Sunday, but i put that down to a lack of service. still possible.

O'Hara - Potential legend from our youth academy, so not him (hopefully)

Pavlyuchenko - Playing well(ish), don't think the strikers could have done much more with the ball constantly being lost in our Midfield.

Defoe - Who'd make that comment to a player they had just bought? 'Tis not him.

Bent - seems lazy these days, possible.

Lennon - Flashes of hot and cold, really not sure..

    Jenas - Possible...

Subs Not Used: Cesar (ha ha!, nope), Bentley (highly likely, Mr. playboy), Huddlestone (nah), Campbell (on-loan).

So to summarize, I think it might be either; Bale, Modric, Bent, Lennon, Jenas or Bentley.

In this order (most likely to least):

    Bentley
    Bale
    Bent
    Jenas
    Lennon
    Modric

Well, that's what I think. Discuss...

I reckon he's being touted to other clubs as a swap. I heard Leighton Baines at Everton as one (although it was some shit red top I got it from). Either way it looks like Arry is far from happy with him (like us!)

Does anyone actually believe we will see a reaction on Sunday? Only a Spurs fan could be 4-1 ahead in a semi and be nervous of the second leg! Things are bad at the Lane and have been for over a year. It was only luck that didn't get us relegated last year. They basically gave up after the Carling Cup final and have never really recovered. Harry's results have been poor recently but we have been so close to remaining unbeaten in our last 3 away games only to have all 3 snatched away at the last minute. Sometimes it goes like that, just like the opposite we had when Harry joined. We are desperate for a win on Sunday and again against Stoke in the next league game. This is the time for the team to stand up and be counted. I never thought I would say this but if they all played with the character of Dawson we would be flying. Come on Spurs, let's get to Wembley and start winning in the league. We are unbeaten against the top 4 this season but our record against the bottom clubs is awful. Let's change things on Sunday. COYS.

Yea I believe thats the reasoning behind stripping him of v.c. And maybe touting his name as a transfer possibility (although not publicly comming out with it). All to evoke a reaction. Being the poor deluded soul he is, he probably thought that was the kind of reply Twitchy was looking for.

Twitchy's retort will probably see Benny still crying come Sunday.

The sad thing is, is that I genuinely believe that Benny does give it a %100 every game.

Tragically, those super 1 in 6 performances are down to him playing outside his usual limited self rather than 5 displays of underachievement.

They've needed a good old fashioned bollocking for a long while, but the response on Sunday is critical as that kind of management only works for so long.

Agree with you. It's a negligible act, in some ways. But it's symbolic. We live in symbols. There has to be a sacrifice if there's to be renewal. It's the way our psyches operate. Hence, managers are given the chop - even when it's the players or boards that are at fault.

Arry took the job with his eyes wide open, Arry fills in the team sheet, Arry brought back Defoe who fails to understand the meaning of the offside rule! Arry said he would not go down with the team, this statement truely worries me. When a manager makes a statement like this, what can you expect from the players, definetly not 100% commitment to the cause!? Bent and Defoe although different in size, both play identical games. They can only run onto through balls and and when dispossed fail to tackle back. Pav needs accurate delivery to the box ie. Bently played on the right, TheHudd played in centre midfield, this should be a given. King has lost the necessary pace for prem football (on bench). Corluka anchoring the midfield (defensive mid), Zakora as right back with Woody and Dawson in central defense and O'Hara as Left back. Lennon on left wing and allowed to roam, Modric played behind Pav as attacking midfielder, Gomes is a given as Goalkeeper. Pick your own other subs(4). Love to hear some feedback from you all!

What I see is players who don't hate to lose. Players must hate, abhor, detest with a vehemence losing. It's tragic that a culture has thrived at Spurs whereby, after yet another defeat, the typical reaction has been to slap a player on the back and say, 'There there. Never mind. Yes, you lost. But there's always next time, eh?'.

Not that I've seen it, of course. But it's how I imagine it.

I respectfully disagree. I noticed Jenas had a large lump in his throat. The golden boy of the family who previously went without blame suddenly is stripped of his VC and made to sit with the bold boys in the corner(on the bench). Then he comes on stropping about like harry Enfields Kevin 'gufahing' and 'sighing' throwing the toys out the pram. Then proceeds to loose his man concede the goal and any chance of a point. Role onto the dressing room scene. Forethoughts of the inevitable Conversation flowing through his mind. Things he'd like to say but never would such as "well? if I started the game I would have been better prepared." and other such excuses.
Then a singling out by the gaffer again in public, albeit in front of the family, still a humiliating spotlight after the 4 letter tirade of abuse.

I think the pup Piped RIGHT UP!!!

this also being due to his worthier than thou attitude. rewind to PSB.

I grow very concerned when as much of our recruitment policy is as reactive as ours. Zokora because some guy saw The Africa Nations on the telly. Gomes after a single inspired performance against The Flighty Spurs in the UEFA. Bent. Modric. I don't even want to get started on how we came to own Pavlyuchenko. Was anyone really following him like we did Berbatov? Because that smacked of "They haven't got any Extra Strong Mints, so I got you this half a bag of Dib Dab." And now, Wilson Palacios. Again, because of a single match where he stole candy from our collective babies. When, save for Bostock, was the last time we showed any kind of purchasing nous? Can we really afford to continue being this naive?
